D12 Alewife Mural (2023)
This mural was created as part of my collaborative work with teens at The Community Art Center and in partnership with Healthpeak Properties. For this project, teen artists studied and practiced non-objective abstract art, learning about the different uses and approaches that have spanned many cultures. They also learned different ways to create balance in an artistic composition and how to express an idea or emotion through the use of shapes and colors. They were then given a set number of shapes and colors with which to design their own abstract image. All the images the teens created were then put together to create one large cohesive design, which we painted onto the building.
