CONTACT (2013)
Contact was a cohesive body of work inspired by the many children’s stories, fiction and non-fiction novels, films, and documentary programs, that represent the Western world’s colonialist rendering of life beyond its parameters. It consisted of paintings, temporary sculpture, and installation art. Part of the installation, and heard through the exhibition space, was a transistor radio appearing to emit static while occasionally picking up random signals. Contact was my MFA thesis exhibition at The University of Wisconsin, Madison.
