We Love Our Community Awards 2019
These mixed-media artworks were commissioned by the Charleston Area Alliance with funding by Spilman, Thomas & Battle. They were given to recipients of the 2019 We Love Our Community Awards, which celebrates individuals, businesses and organizations that strive to make Charleston, WV a great place to live. All 14 awards were created using collage techniques on wood panels, with text and logos hand-painted in acrylic. Each award expresses the character or tells the story of the awardee.
