art vending machines (2023-24)

This project was created as part of my collaborative work with teens at The Community Art Center. CAC purchased two vintage flat vending machines to be redesigned by teens to sell artwork created by teens. Youth at CAC worked on digital renderings to redesign the machines, proposing their ideas to the larger group. After designs were discussed and voted on, I led them through the process of fabricating their designs. The designs chosen were by Rhyan Montes Wells (robot design) and Preceous Gomez (dog design). The robot machine is on display at Cambridgeside Mall and the dog machine is on display at Bow Market in Somerville, MA. Both are stocked with teen-made stickers available for sale.

Teens created digital renderings of their proposed designs.
