Magnet Poetry Walls (2021)

These magnet poetry walls were created as part of my collaborative work with teens at The Community Art Center. It is located in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, and was commissioned by The Cambridge Community Development Department. I have since contracted with the department independently to replenish the magnets in varying iterations. Teens worked in teams to devise themes, with one wall containing words intended for adult use and another containing letters and shapes intended for children. Teens presented their concepts to each other and decided on the best ideas. They then digitally formatted all the words and letters and helped fabricate, paint, and install the panels. The wall with words is seasons themed, while the wall letters is space themed. The words and letters are laser-cut acrylic, and the walls are painted stainless steel.
